Hello Al,

I attach the above monthly chart.  Our EW count are different in part.

Price high in 1980 introduced a combination double zigzag correction to the
low, point C in early 1985.  Since that time price has been in an uptrend.

>From point C low our count agrees with respect to wave 1 and 2.  It is my
opinion that wave 3 was extended and occurred in late 1991.  Wave 3 is the
most commonly extended wave and often occurs.  Wave 3 was not the shortest
wave.  Wave 4 was a flat correction marked A, B and C, wave 4 low occurred
in 2001.  Wave 5 began in 2001, and also traced an extended wave 3.  Each of
the 5 sub waves are circled in red..  The longer term wave 5 occurred in
Oct., 2007.  Subsequently a zigzag correction was traced with a low testing
Fib. 78.6 which was based on a low at point 4.  Longer term Fib. study based
on C low in 1985 shows a retracement below 50.  

The low of corrective wave C has not yet been clearly established.  Price
has tested 78.6 from which we have higher price suggesting this level may be
at or near support.  

Your chart marks A where my chart marks extended wave 3,  Your point B
coincides with my chart point wave 4 low.  Your point C coincides with my
chart wave 5 high.  You suggest a triangle correction based on those marks.
I do not agree.

As noted on pg. 49 of Prechter's book there are only two varieties of
triangles, contracting and expanding.  Figure I-42 on that page depicts the
various types.  The only example of a chart pattern where C high is higher
than A is shown in the lower right corner which only occurs in a down trend.
Price has been in an uptrend since 1985.  Elliott describes this pattern as
"reverse symmetrical" expanding triangle which is rare.  The pattern is
further described as top rising bottom declining which does not comply with
the chart pattern at issue.
